Hi all
Hey, my name is Cammy Fung. I'm a 3rd year advertising student. I figured this course will be useful for me because a compelling user experience is important in branding, and creating strategy for a company. Jack Astors is one of my favorite restaraunt. I love the food, drinks, service, atmosphere and last but not least, the paper and crayon that I can draw with. So I think I'm going to focus this assignment on the As* =)

I love the crayons too!
As I mentioned in class, these corporate chain restaurants are interesting and of direct relevance to this course. Every bit of furniture, vocabulary and decoration has been consiously decided to create a defined experience for their "guests".
When I was a student I funded one of the years serving at Montana's - during the training, what suprised me most was the level of thought/ridiculous control that they put into every part of the server's behaviour at the table - including 15 pages of "preferred" terms and expressions (including referring to people as "folks" whenever you can).
The point is that much of the experience has been consiously designed - this assignment will look at the value and failings of this strategy - and ultimately how to do it successfully.
